Cisco National Award Joy for Arrowdawn

Integrated telecommunications specialist Arrowdawn has scooped a national title at a special awards ceremony held by Cisco – the worldwide leader in networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate.

Aberdeen-based Arrowdawn, which supplies IP telephony systems, networks and support services, landed the Cisco Scottish Small and Medium-sized Business Partner of the Year Award at the Houstoun House Hotel, Uphall, near Edinburgh.

Gordon Adie, Arrowdawn’s Managing Director, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with this award. This is a tremendous accolade and we’re grateful to Cisco for recognising all our hard work.

“Arrowdawn’s sales are currently 72% higher than expected for a Cisco partner of our size. Picking up an award that is based on sales and level of service during a recession is an exceptional achievement.

“We’ve recruited a senior engineer and are looking to move to larger premises. However, we won’t be resting on our laurels as we know we can only grow by understanding the needs of clients and continuing to deliver a first-class service.”

Donald McLaughlin, General Manager, Cisco Scotland, said: “Cisco was delighted to have the opportunity to recognise Arrowdawn for its outstanding performance. Our partners are critical to our success and we’re looking forward to continuing to develop and enhance our relationship with Arrowdawn over the months and years ahead.”

Arrowdawn’s 2009 award was for Cisco partners working with companies with up to 250 users.

The company is on track to increase turnover to £1 million – a projected rise of more than 250% in just two years.

Arrowdawn supply IP telephony systems and network infrastructure solutions to local, national and international companies and has worked across a range of industry sectors including energy, human resources and property.

As well as onshore projects, Arrowdawn has also installed offshore communication systems and data centres. The company only uses Cisco products.

Gordon Charlton, Arrowdawn’s Business Development Manager, believes the reason for the company’s success has been its ability to understand the needs of clients and deliver bespoke solutions.

He said: “The reward is a culmination of a lot of hard work. It is a reflection of our delivery of a high quality service that makes a real difference to a client’s business.

“We handle single vendor as well as multi-site communication projects. By putting everything under the Cisco umbrella, less cabling and switches are required. This helps to keeps costs down and ensures the smooth running of a company’s infrastructure.”
