Cisco specialist Arrowdawn expands with new Inverness office

Integrated IT networking and communications specialist Arrowdawn has opened an office in Inverness as part of plans to further grow the business.

An award-winning Cisco specialist, Arrowdawn has expanded into premises at the city’s Cradlehall Business Park. The company’s Inverness operation will be led by senior network engineer Nicholas Richardson.

Arrowdawn expects to add to its team by the end of the year in order to meet an expected rise in demand for its services in the Highlands and Islands, particularly from firms in the oil & gas industry and the associated service sector.

The business, headquartered in the West End of Aberdeen, is on track to record turnover of £2m for its October 2014 year-end – a projected increase of 11% on last year’s figures.

Arrowdawn is targeting turnover of £3m by the end of 2015 and is exploring plans to expand into other areas of Scotland.

Gordon Adie, managing director of Arrowdawn, said: “The opening of this new office is a significant step in our continued growth strategy. We expect that having a strong local presence will allow us to drive new business opportunities in Inverness and the surrounding area.

“We are partnered exclusively with Cisco and our aim is to establish Arrowdawn as the go-to company for Cisco products in the Highlands and Islands. Nicholas’ expertise, backed up by our industry-leading support and the wider Cisco infrastructure, will bring widespread benefits to customers.

“As a business, we’re looking into opportunities to expand our services into other areas of Scotland. It’s early days yet but we would be interested if the right fit for Arrowdawn should present itself.”

Nicholas, originally from Inverness, previously worked in Arrowdawn’s Aberdeen office where he was involved in a number of key projects, including the installation of a large wide area network (WAN) for a leading property and legal firm.

He said: “It’s an exciting time for Inverness and the wider business community and I’m very much looking forward to helping drive the growth of Arrowdawn in the region.

“With our unrivalled Cisco expertise, as well as an extensive range of services and products, Arrowdawn is well placed to provide our customers with effective solutions for complex networking and communications problems – all aimed towards helping increase their connectivity.”

A Cisco Scotland Commercial Partner of the Year in 2010 and 2012, Arrowdawn was a finalist at the 2013 awards.

The business has won major contracts with North Sea oil and gas operators as well as international oil service companies.
